Ford & Slater has invested £200,000 to operate an HGV test bay at its Spalding dealership. The DP status allows testing to take place at the Spalding dealership and avoids the need for vehicles to travel to the nearest VOSA test stations located at Grantham and Peterborough.

Ali Drummond, Area General Manager, said “By adding the test lane we will significantly reduce overall vehicle ‘downtime’ for DAF operators in the Spalding area and we expect to see more consistent test results.”

“The Spalding dealership opened in March 2007 at a cost of £1.5 million and we always hoped that the growth in the aftersales operation would justify the dealership extension that now allows us to offer the MOT testing service to our customers. The growth in the number of DAF trucks operating in the local area and maintained by Ford & Slater has been amazing, particularly when you consider the very difficult economic backdrop.”

The Spalding dealership is open for business seven days a week and operates from state-of-the-art facilities. DAF Truck has its own in house web-based system for recording the inspection and service history of trucks - DAFcheck - which is free-of-charge to operators and our electronic workshop loading system allows efficient email communication with customers. Including electronic invoices and monthly statements.
